Learning the game

Novice pace noters will find that the more events they do on notes the more their own style will develop

This is natural and all very well but pace note events are few and far between.

I found that having something to start with

SEE LEGEND is a great help.

My starting point was Ross and Lisa Dunkerton, who very kindly spent a day out in the bush with me.

To actually be in a car while an experienced person calls the road and then explains to you the significent of each call, makes learning easy.

This was a huge bonus for me.

In those days Ross would have been the most experienced person in Australia on notes.

Remember that it takes time to learn so you need to drive your first few pace note events with some care.

Care equals "you live to fight another day"

Until you have a few events under your belt, you cannot commit 100% to pace notes.

Those that do usually find it very expensive.

One of the most satisfying things I have found with the sport is that no matter how long you do it for or how often you are always on a steep learning curve!

I hope that the information I offer here may be of some use to people new to the sport and that this enables me to contribute something back to the sport that has been my life and I love dearly.

Enjoy your rallying.
